W10 currently deny Securom DRM which is a good thing, albeit its already defunct, but it imposes compatibility issues with older software and hardware. The computer used to run pretty good with 8.1 now with Windows 10, even having 8GB of RAM, i notice several minor lags and pauses, even with Cortana and all Telemetry settings shut down.Īnother very important thing to consider is if you need to run certain software that probably will refuse to run. Currently im using a Core, a fairly old machine as my work setup. One of the major reasons people would choose to not update Windows is the performance drop.

There are plenty of reasons people wouldn't want to update to the latest Windows, including poor performance on older machines, security and privacy concerts, and mostly, the freedom to choose the operating system you paid for when a person agreed to the Windows 7 or 8 EULA it didnt stated you should be forced to upgrade it shouldn't either be mandatory, since the extended support for either 7 and 8 are still in place and will remain for a good time.Īfter the launch of Windows 10, Microsoft also quietly introduced the same telemetry 'tools' present on Windows 10 to 7 and 8, as disguised and important windows Updates. According to PCWorld reports, Microsoft is forcing the update.
